Job Overview
The Senior Manager – Project Development will oversee a portfolio of projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, understanding of Public Policies & ESG, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex industrial projects in multiple sectors.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project management team, aligning project objectives with organizational goals and priorities.
- Develop and implement project management strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Project Development, Planning, and Execution
- Conduct thorough market research and feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential projects and identify opportunities for growth.
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, suppliers, and partners.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to promote collaboration and resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during project execution.
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges or obstacles.
Financial Management
- Develop project business plans, conduct project financial analyses, and submit them to management for approvals.
- Oversee project budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts, monitoring project financial performance and identifying opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for all projects, in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
ESG & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage ESIA studies and ensure that all projects adhere to environmental, social, and governance standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Manage the process of obtaining necessary approvals, permits, and licenses for project development activities.
Qualification & Skills Required
- 7+ years of experience in project development, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex industrial projects (mining, industrial processing, infrastructure, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field; advanced degree, MBA, or professional certification in project management is preferred.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles and experience integrating sustainability practices into project development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in risk management, financial management, and strategic planning.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed for site inspections, meetings, and coordination with project teams.
